Retro Sunday Dinner
It certainly has been dreary in my neck of the woods lately. Dreary days call for comfort food. And Sundays call for dressed-up comfort food. Don't read "difficult" or "time-consuming" into that. Once Roast Loin of Pork with Stuffing is prepped, the oven does all the work.
Russell Cronkhite is another big advocate of using food to draw people together. His "A Return to Sunday Dinner" demonstrates this philosophy. As do Art Smith's books.
Smith, La Oprah's private chef, has written "Back to the Family: Food Tastes Better Shared with the Ones You Love" and "Back to the Table: The Reunion of Food and Family."
All this on top of creating Common Threads, a program that teaches, mostly inner-city, kids through food and cooking that we are all more similar than different, and opening Table 52, his Chicago restaurant that's tougher to get into than tickets for Oprah's show! When does the guy sleep?
Follow these steps for Roast Loin of Pork with Stuffing.
