Get the Kids Involved in This Easy No-Knead Bread

Sunday September 7, 2008
OK, so this recipe is for Hungarian beer breadsticks. Not exactly fitting for kids? If they don't eat the raw dough (and they shouldn't), allay your fears. The alcohol in the beer cooks out.

What you're left with is a fun project for you and the tots. These crunchy good snacks can be shaped into sticks or pretzels, and made healthier by using white whole-wheat flour. Instead of sprinkling with garlic salt, try sesame seeds, poppyseeds, chopped herbs. Anything goes.

No kids? Dipped in mustard, salsa, marinara or all by themselves, they're wonderful finger food with cocktails, for Monday Night Football, on a buffet table, anytime.
