Stuffing Vs. Dressing - Is There A Difference?

In my humble opinion, there IS a difference between stuffing and dressing. Stuffing is, well, stuffed into something else -- meat, poultry, seafood or veggies. And dressing is baked in a pan alongside the protein you happen to be cooking.

The debate rages on, however. The National Turkey Federation says the terms can be used interchangeably. But I stand pat. Using the terms to mean the same thing have created a lot of misunderstandings in my household! Never again. Everyone is clear on my definitions, so no surprises at the dinner table anymore.
