Try Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake to Augur Good Luck

Looking for a new way to get your sauerkraut down to augur good luck for 2013? Try Chocolate Sauerkraut Cake for a change of pace. This moist cake really has sauerkraut in the batter. It's terrific, if just for the "ick" reaction you get when you tell people what's in it!

Sauerkraut is beloved by Eastern Europeans, so this dessert is right up our alley. Iterations of this recipe have been around for ages, this is my version. I use a little extra sauerkraut and top the baked cake with a chocolate cream cheese frosting.
