Dina Albadawi grew up in Shopska, a region on the outskirts of the capital city of Sofia in Bulgaria. She is of Bulgarian-Syrian heritage, so she has a rich culinary legacy. Now living in Northwest Indiana, she keeps the old traditions strong by welcoming guests into her home with open arms and stuffing them with homemade Bulgarian delights. Roasted peppers in oil are an important component of the Bulgarian appetizer, or meze, spread.
