Ingredients:
- 6 cups water
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 pound washed, stemmed, pitted sour cherries
Preparation:
- In a large saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil. Add prepared cherries, return to a boil, reduce heat and cook 3 minutes. Let steep off the heat until it comes to room temperature.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature on its own or as a side with cheesecake, ice cream or pound cake.
