Definition: French. A sachet is a cheesecloth bag containing herbs (usually fresh parsley and thyme, and dried bay leaf) and spices (usually black peppercorns) used to flavor stocks. It differs from a "bouquet garni" in that the latter contains only herbs.
Examples:
I dropped a sachet into the boiling stock to infuse it with flavor.
